Jurisprudence and Gender by Robin West
Oxford, New York; Oxford University Press 493-530
1993
West describes the gendered paradigm under which we currently approach jurisprudence and argues that we collectively must alter the way we define it to include women and what they value—relationships over independence, for example. West critiques “liberal legalism.” Taking issue with West and defending a “radical liberalism,” see Nussbaum, “Jurisprudence and Gender:Defending a Radical Liberalism,” 75 U. Chi. L. Rev. 985 (2008).
